Forklift Sales
Action Equipment Company is a major supplier of reconditioned forklifts. Currently, reconditioned machines sell for less than half the price of new machines, and offer extremely good value. Reconditioned machines from AEC come with a warranty which is backed up by the technical capability gained from maintaining our own large forklift rental fleet.
Forklift Rental
On the rental side, AEC operates a fleet of over 300 forklifts, which means that we always have the machine you need.
Renting forklifts - from 1 day to 5 years - offers many advantages:
- There is no need to lay out capital.
- Rental is hassle-free, as we are responsible for the maintenance and administrative costs.
- With rental, the cost of running your forklifts becomes a fixed, budgeted amount, instead of a constantly increasing burden - and the rental payments are tax-deductible.
- Most importantly, if there is a problem with your machine, we have experienced staff to fix it; and if this cannot be done on-site, we can provide a replacement machine while yours is in our workshop.

We have a large fully equipped workshop with skilled professional staff dedicated to the repairing and rebuilding of forklifts. We also offer on-site repairs and servicing with a fleet of cellular telephone equipped mobile repair vans manned by qualified field service technicians. You are cordially invited to inspect our specialised forklift repair facilities at any time.
Preventative Maintenance
To prevent downtime, regular servicing is the best solution. A maintenance programme can be arranged to keep your forklifts in peak condition. Our service department will gladly arrange a customised programme to suit your operating requirements.
With all repairs, we'll give you a free quote in writing, clearly specifying the work to be done. If anything additional needs doing, we'll call to get your OK. And when the job's done, we'll give you a warranty.

Parts and Components
In order to run our large workshop and rental fleet, we have developed an extensive supplier network both local and international for forklift parts and components. If you need even a single part, we are able to supply it efficiently and cost-effectively.
When it comes to forks, we are agents for Vetter forks, the only fork with the famous "OPTIMA" fork heel. These high quality, German-engineered forks have a longer working life than others, and are manufactured to the stringent ISO9001 and BS5750 quality certifications.
Safety and Training Services
Forklift Driver Training
We also offer to provide driver training at reduced rates, to the standards required by the Driven Machinery Regulations of the Occupational Health and Safety Act of 1994 (OHSA). Successful candidates receive a Certificate of Competency in compliance with the Act and its administration by the Department of Manpower.
Forklift Inspection and Testing
In addition to operator certification, regular inspection and testing of forklifts is now required by law in terms of the Occupational Health and Safety Act. These comprehensive inspections have to be carried out every six months by a competent technician, and the forklift's lifting capacity must be tested at least once a year. The results of these inspections and tests must be recorded in a Forklift Register to be kept on the user's premises. We will carry out all necessary tests and record the results in an official Forklift Register which is supplied free of charge.
